Schools Incentive Scheme (SIS) - Giving back to your school
We are keen to see more and more kids getting active in an age where it is all too easy to get distracted by technology and forget about the importance of exercise. On this basis we are offering schools an incentive to get your kids involved.
This is how the scheme will work: Parents or schools can enter this event either online or over the phone. One of the mandatory boxes to fill in will be the school name, we (UK Triathlon) will then filter out each school name and send the allocated donation. Whether it be £2.00 or £200.00 each school will be in a win situation.
For every child that signs up we will donate £2 per entry back to your school. For example, if 100 kids sign up from your school you will receive a £200 donation from UK Triathlon for your school to buy sports & fitness equipment.
UK Triathlon's Race Director, Keith Hancock, creator of the Golden Mile, Chairperson of Crewe & Nantwich Town Sports and known for his enthusiastic involvement with Sportshall Athletics says, 'This is a unique incentive scheme designed to encourage many more young people to get active. It is simple, effective and accessible to all schools, children and parents. UK Triathlon are extremely proud to be able to offer this scheme and give something back to the school community enabling them to purchase sports & fitness equipment for their school and get their children active at the same time.'

Don't want to go it alone? Take part as a relay team of 2 or 3
and share the challenge of swim, bike and run!
The freshwater lake has no currents and will have lane rope, as used in swimming pools, marking the 25 metre course the children have to swim. The lane rope is also there as an aid should any child feel the need to stop and hold on to something. There are safety marshals and canoeists in the water to look after the children.
They will be started at 20 second intervals in the lake so there are no mass starts. The swim course is very straight forward and there will be a verbal briefing prior to each child starting.
A swim cap will be given to each child and must be worn. Children may use their own swim cap instead if preferred.
The cycle course is fairly flat, on grass and entirely within the grounds of Dearnford Lake. The course is completely post & taped making it easy to follow. Children will not be allowed to take part without a bike helmet.
The run is fairly flat and entirely on grass. The course again is completely post & taped and within the grounds of Dearnford Lake.
